Job Description:

Serve as a member of the Boston Connects team by delivering evidence-based health education and social/emotional development curricula to elementary age students enrolled in selected Boston Public Schools. Collaborate with faculty at Boston College on curriculum planning and development as well as data collection and analysis.

Reports To: Health and Wellness Program Director

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, implement, and assess weekly health education and social/emotional development lessons for elementary level students in selected elementary schools.

2. Collaborate with Boston Public School teachers and community partners to integrate health education concepts into the school day and into out-of-school time programs.

3. Lead the planning and organization of school-based health and wellness activities at the assigned school(s).

4. Lead the planning and organization of Health Week activities and similar events organized by Boston Connects.

5. Collaborate with the Boston Connects School Site Coordinator(s) to address student needs and to highlight student strengths and assets.

6. Collect and analyze data as required by the Boston Connects evaluation team.

7. Participate in on-going professional development in the areas of health education, pedagogy, assessment and the use of data to inform practice and all other areas identified by Boston Connects.


Requirements

Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts in Education
MA License in Health Education or Elementary Education
Experience working in urban schools
Evidence of culturally competent practices
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff, student body and with families
